In 1921, at Omegna in Italy, a talented sheet metal worker called Giovanni Alessi bought a plot of land and founded the company that bears his name - Alessi. He started making objects for the table and the home in copper, brass and nickel silver. Alessi was a real stickler for quality - the things he made quickly won acclaim for their workmanship and perfect finish. The Alessi company now employs 500 people who carry on Giovanni Alessi's tradition of quality.
